VFR800FI

Yes, the FI stands for "fuel injection"It was just really starting to make a move around the year 2000, well in the motorcycle world anyhow. What even with the scare of Y2K @ the time Honda said....."go with this new thing, electronic fuel pump, single sided swing arm and lets do this weird taillight thing," I admit I am not a fan of the tailight design but what the hell, its the folks behind me that primarily have to look @ it right?

I will say that the V4 engine gives plenty of grunt on the low end and by George this thing will downright scoot on the high end as well. I challenge you to find a better all arounder for the price or style from this era. It is just all together a damn fine bike and a damn fine reason I am into the Honda's.

Precisely

DRZ400

Ok...we could sit and talk of d-bags all day long but we wont....we got better more fulfilling and productive things to do. It can be tough at times. Bang out a few paragraphs about a bike. Swenson appears to have took his own life. Just found out today while purusing an SI. Damn I feel out of the loop at times and mostly thats the way I like it. Partly thats why I left Ass-ville...er...ASHEville. to much in the loop and everyone walkin around like they so damn hip...Me..."where ya from?"...Ashevillian...."right here"...Me.."no I mean where's your roots"....Ass-villian...."Haywood." Me...."Screw you trusty...your a Midwesterner like the rest of us" Note to Ass-villian....the harder you try the more dumbass we all know you are.

Oh yeah...the bike...Uh. Awesome little 400. good rubber, hand guards a box of extras and a whole host of goodness in the good graces of trusties and hipsters alike. OK. so maybe the Goodwill skinny jeans guys might think it a bit uncool but who cares, those guys are dorks anyhow

Just like my new readership may be wondering...."Why the hell is there no video of the shop itself?" Patience Tribe. We got bikes, we got music, stay tuned for even more better faster MORE.

A hollow HELLO

I know, those of you who check in here or @ the "other blog" know that it is the one tending to be pretty music heavy. I must admit I was a bit reserved about putting tunes on here as we do want to keep it focused on the bikes we serve and the people who ride on them, however.

Some of you are really not going to be into Mr. Truento, some of you not understand it and dare I say I be risking readers here??? We do have double digit hits on a daily basis and over @ the "other blog" we were getting well over a hundred hits a day. Not to shabby since the marketing department is on strike

I think we will, I think we will keep some music spinnin round in here. We need some heavy somethin to start the day. GrunTruck

Goldwing and Me

So the best days are not only the worst but somehow float on the ether. We know it could be worse and we are blessed to be a player in the motorsports domain but damn son....what's up with you Goldwing guys?? I guess I am not meant to get it.

Better be ready mamma cita. The wing is upon us. Yes....the wing

Comfort, fortune, fame, new tires.

Suzuki Sadness

For those who may read this, be it known the Bandit is currently having some hard times. Por girl really doesnt want to stay in second gear, sounds and feels to me like a dog gone wrong. Most of you know this is gonna require puttin her to sleep for a bit and doin some fairly major surgery. Do the words "split the cases" mean anything to you? Well if they dont think pullin the motor, pullin it apart and seein just what the heck is going on in there. We got a gasket kit on the way from Vesrah so we are covered there. Maybe we need look into a few other performance mods while she is down.

Think about this though, for those of you who know me....Yesterday I was shopping a GASP....Harley Davidson! XR1200, sportster sportiness on a flat track throwback kind of thing. I dunno.....maybe we should stick with the Bandit, the old bike made new has always been my thing

LS650 getS40

OK, good to see blogspot got past there little server issue or what the hell it was. I dont claim to be a real computer geek. We are lucky I can type this thing but damn, arent y'all in-cahoots wit GOOGLE?

Nuff Said.

So. I like to think I am a pretty nice feller. I do what I can for our customers, often times what I consider "above and beyond type stuff" Handshake credit lines, no charge tire disposal, even been known to transport a bike no charge once or twice. Well doing just that this past week I was privy to my wife driving me out to the sticks to pick up a little Suzuki S40. Classic cruiser styling wrapped in a "starter bike" package. Single cylinder, black and chrome. Whats not to like. Down the mountain and on to the four lane it took a minute to get used to. I am so used to my behemoth 1200 and so used to speed right now type acceleration I almost forgot what 650cc felt like. Glad I got the reminder.

Your not likely to get bad ass points on this thing nor are you likely to be swooned at by the local college girl or yoga Mom set either. what you get is a smooth fun enjoyable ride all wrapped in a throw it around how ya like kind of bike. that is unless ya got the cafe lunch plate special.

It is a mountain tradition of the small business owner. We open to serve you on Saturday and we like you enjoy having to full days off for our work week.

Wednesday is typically the slowest day of any business and Saturday, well...Saturday can be just plain nutty sometimes. We do appreciate your business folks and we welcome your feedback.

The making of Thistory

So the dream has arrived and here we are. I, the owner of a small motorcycle shop in a small mountain town will add this here blog to the cyber world for all to witness our projects, triumphs, trials, tribulations.

Though it is not my (or our) intent to become the next OCC. (we like metric bikes here) It is our intent to gain some national and international and possibly inter-galactic media coverage. We begin here and move on to bigger and better venues. Such as The Tuck Reader. http://www.tuckreader.com/ Brain child of fellow rider Giles Morris who has already been kind enough to give us some rant space. You can read the first article here..... http://www.tuckreader.com/riding-the-parkway-a-motorcycle-dream/ and the latest musing, here.....http://www.tuckreader.com/spring-motorcycle-maintenance/ Be advised Giles will be getting a link for the start of this here blog as well. It has been long overdue that he and I start and a slowly started project.

We welcome your comments and feedback as well look forward to posting some pics and videos of unusual bikes we come across and interesting projects we take on. Even if it be something as simple as building a custom made motorcycle tool.

Link to us, call us, give us some damn media exposure. Its all good. We have some big ideas floating and some smaller ones that have already been put into reality. Whether you are a year round rider, a weekend warrior or just plain wanna read and see some real cool schtuff. We are here to amuse.
